Online Masters Degree Programs in School Counseling That are Inexpensive

Schools around the country that offer online masters degree in school counseling programs charge an average tuition of $10,534 per year. The average tuition has increased, over the past few years, by 16.4%. At these online colleges the average tuition each year in 2007 was $9,046.

A yearly tuition of over $16,792 is charged by the costliest online masters degree in school counseling colleges and universities. On the other end of the spectrum, per annum tuition in the range of $1,714 to $3,763 is charged by the cheapest colleges and universities. The lowest cost accredited online school counseling masters degree schools are located in Louisiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Virginia.

A reported 38% of school counseling graduates with masters degrees from online schools around the US graduated from these affordable programs in 2011. This represents 76,850 of the 203,588 graduates from around the US. From 2006 to 2011, the number of school counseling graduates with masters degrees from the least costly online colleges has increased by 11,752 graduates per annum. However, the percentage of graduates from these colleges has decreased.

Yearly tuition in the range of $3,988 to $5,436 is charged by other somewhat more costly online school counseling masters degree colleges. Tuition in this range is charged by 5 of the 22 online colleges that have masters degrees in school counseling programs in the country.

In 2011, 38,613 students received their credentials from these reasonably priced online programs. This represents 19% of the country’s school counseling masters level graduates. The number of graduates from these schools was only 35,728 students, just 5 years earlier, in 2006. This is a 8% increase in the number of students graduating from these reasonably priced online schools.
