A yearly average tuition of $11,388 is charged by schools that have online computer science programs around the country. In recent years, the average tuition has increased. This change in tuition was around 17.9%. The average tuition per annum was $9,660 at these online schools in 2007.

At the high end, schools offering online computer science programs charge students more than $15,660 in tuition yearly. But, tuition at the cheapest schools is in the range of $576 to $4,047 per annum. The accredited online computer science schools that are the least expensive are located in California, Kansas, Massachusetts, New Mexico, and Texas.

Approximately 18% of computer science graduates from online schools around the US graduated from these low tuition programs in 2011. Therefore, of the 4,021,008 graduates in the nation, 726,166 are from the most inexpensive colleges and universities. Between 2006 and 2011, the number of computer science graduates from the least expensive online colleges has increased by 48,755 graduates yearly, while the percentage of graduates from these colleges has decreased.

Tuition ranging from $4,070 to $7,568 annually is charged by other somewhat more expensive online computer science schools. Tuition in this range is charged by 101 of the 600 online colleges that have computer science programs in the country.

In 2011, 1,091,364 students received their credentials from these reasonably priced online programs. This represents 27% of the country’s computer science graduates. A short 5 years prior, in 2006, the number of students graduating from these colleges and universities was only 1,011,128. Therefore, the number of students graduating from these reasonably priced online colleges has increased by 8%.
