Tuition of more than $13,500 per annum is charged by the most expensive colleges and universities with online certificate. On the other end of the spectrum, yearly tuition in the range of $600 to $2,707 is charged by the cheapest colleges. The lowest cost online accredited certificate schools are located in Arizona, California, Massachusetts, New Mexico, and Texas.

A short 5 years prior, in 2006, only 147,376 students earned credentials from these colleges and universities.
