A per annum average tuition of $10,706 is charged by colleges and universities that offer online technology programs across the nation. The average tuition has increased over the past few years. This change in tuition was about 17.9%. In 2007, the average tuition at these online colleges and universities was $9,077 each year.

Tuition of more than $13,680 each year is charged by the most expensive colleges and universities offering online technology programs. On the other end of the spectrum, per annum tuition at the cheapest colleges and universities is in the range of $576 to $3,696. The least expensive accredited online technology schools are located in California, Kansas, Massachusetts, New Mexico, and Texas.

In 2011, these affordable programs graduated a reported 21% of technology graduates from online colleges and universities in the nation. Therefore, of the 2,308,004 graduates in the nation, 477,364 are from the most inexpensive colleges and universities. Between 2006 and 2011, the number of technology graduates from the least expensive online colleges and universities has increased by 62,712 graduates annually, while the percentage of graduates from these colleges and universities has decreased.

Tuition ranging from $3,714 to $7,011 per annum is charged by other somewhat more expensive online technology colleges. Tuition in this range is charged by 63 of the 423 online colleges that have technology programs in the country.

In 2011, 23.3%, or 536,856 of the country’s technology graduates received their certificates from these cheap online programs. The number of students graduating from these colleges and universities was as much as 544,152 students in 2006, which was a short 5 years prior. This represents a 1% decrease in the number of graduates from these low tuition online schools.
