Colleges in the US that have online masters degree in engineering programs require students to pay a median tuition of $7,900 per year. The median tuition has increased over the past few years. This change in tuition was around 20.3%. The yearly median tuition at these online colleges in 2007 was $6,566.

A yearly tuition of over $19,890 is charged by the costliest schools that have online masters degree in engineering programs. On the other hand, tuition ranging from $2,881 to $5,452 per annum is charged by the cheapest colleges and universities. The accredited online engineering masters degree schools that are the lowest cost are located in Florida, Idaho, North Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.

Of all engineering graduates with masters degrees from online colleges across the country, a reported 27% graduated from these affordable programs in 2011. This represents 400,152 of the 1,484,870 graduates from around the US. From 2006 to 2011, the percentage of engineering graduates with masters degrees from the most inexpensive online schools has decreased. However, the number of graduates has increased by 8,465 graduates per year.

Yearly tuition in the range of $5,461 to $7,875 is charged by other somewhat more costly online engineering masters degree colleges and universities. Of the 69 online colleges and universities with masters degrees in engineering programs in the nation, 17 offer programs with tuition in this range.

In 2011, 24.5% of the country’s engineering masters level graduates received their credentials from these reasonably priced online programs. This represents 363,361 students. As much as 363,795 students graduated from these colleges, only 5 years earlier, in 2006. This represents a 1% decrease in the number of graduates from these low tuition online schools.
