Colleges in Washington state with online programs have a median tuition of $6,089 per year. The median tuition has increased over the past few years. This change in tuition was about 33.9%. In 2007, the median tuition at these online Washington state colleges was $4,548 annually.

A yearly tuition of over $14,574 is charged by the costliest online colleges and universities. However, tuition charged by the cheapest colleges ranges from $2,520 to $2,820 yearly. The least expensive accredited online schools are located in Aberdeen, Bellevue, Des Moines, Shoreline, and Vancouver.

Other somewhat more costly online colleges charge a yearly tuition in the range of $2,903 to $3,626. Tuition in this range is charged by 5 of the 21 online colleges with programs in Washington state.

In 2011, 8,439 students received their certificates from these cheap online programs. This represents 8% of the state’s graduates. In 2006, which was a short 5 years earlier, as much as 16,338 students graduated from these colleges and universities. This is a 48% decrease in the number of students graduating from these cheap online schools.
