On the other end of the spectrum, yearly tuition in the range of $1,714 to $6,128 is charged by the cheapest colleges. In 2011, these affordable programs graduated a reported 24% of business graduates with PhD from online colleges and universities in the nation. This represents 317,536 of the 1,315,299 graduates from around the US. From 2006 to 2011, the number of business graduates with PhD from the least costly online schools has increased by 47,385 graduates per year. However, the percentage of graduates from these schools has decreased.
Yearly tuition in the range of $6,216 to $9,600 is charged by other somewhat more costly online business PhD schools. Roughly 13 of the 61 online schools that have doctorate degrees in business programs in the US charge tuition in this range.
In 2011, 24.6%, or 322,936 of the country’s business doctoral level graduates received their certificates from these cheap online programs. The number of graduates from these colleges and universities was only 250,714 students, a short 5 years earlier, in 2006. Thus, from these low tuition online colleges and universities, the number of graduates has increased by 29%.
