Colleges in the US that have online psychology programs require students to pay an average tuition of $12,866 per year. Over the past few years, the average tuition has increased. This change in tuition was about 7.4%. The average tuition per annum was $11,983 at these online colleges in 2007.

The most expensive colleges that have online psychology programs require students to pay a yearly tuition of over $19,200. But, tuition in the range of $728 to $6,089 yearly is charged by the cheapest schools. California, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas are home to the lowest cost accredited online psychology schools.

These reasonably priced programs graduated roughly 21% of psychology graduates from online schools around the US in 2011. Therefore, of the 1,298,154 graduates from across the country, 274,559 are from the most inexpensive colleges. From 2006 to 2011, the number of psychology graduates from the least costly online schools has increased by 11,786 graduates per year. However, the percentage of graduates from these schools has decreased.

Yearly tuition in the range of $6,216 to $11,040 is charged by other somewhat more costly online psychology schools. A reported 54 of the 165 online schools with psychology programs in the US charge tuition in this range.

In 2011, 35.4%, or 459,205 of the country’s psychology graduates received their certificates from these cheap online programs. In 2006, which was just 5 years earlier, the number of graduates from these schools was only 390,679 students. Thus, the number of graduates from these affordable online colleges has increased by 18%.
