Colleges in the US with online masters degree in English programs have a median tuition of $6,672 per year. In recent years, the median tuition has increased by 34%. In 2007, the median tuition at these online schools was $4,978 each year.

Tuition of more than $8,500 per annum is charged by the most expensive online masters degree in English colleges. On the other end of the spectrum, tuition at the cheapest colleges and universities is in the range of $1,714 to $4,319 yearly. Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, and Texas are home to the most inexpensive accredited online English masters degree schools.

In 2011, these low tuition programs graduated approximately 17% of English graduates with masters degrees from online colleges and universities in the nation. Therefore, of the 929,634 graduates from around the US, 158,705 are from the most inexpensive schools. From 2006 to 2011, the number of English graduates with masters degrees from the least costly online schools has increased by 13,498 graduates per year. However, the percentage of graduates from these schools has decreased.
Other somewhat more expensive cost online English masters degree colleges charge students tuition ranging from $4,680 to $5,927 yearly. Roughly 10 of the 41 online schools that have masters degrees in English programs in the US charge tuition in this range.
In 2011, 190,057 students received their credentials from these reasonably priced online programs. This represents 20% of the country’s English masters level graduates. In 2006, which was a short 5 years earlier, the number of graduates from these colleges and universities was as much as 191,681 students. Therefore, the number of students graduating from these cheap online colleges has decreased by 1%.
