On the other end of the spectrum, the cheapest colleges require students to pay yearly tuition costs in the range of $708 to $3,696. The accredited online computer science schools that are the most inexpensive are located in Alabama, California, Florida, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Tuition ranging from $3,720 to $6,320 annually is charged by other somewhat more expensive online computer science colleges and universities. A reported 15 of the 66 online schools with computer science programs in the US charge tuition in this range.
In 2011, 23.8%, or 173,214 of the country’s computer science graduates received their certificates from these cheap online programs. Only 5 years prior, in 2006, only 144,437 students earned credentials from these colleges. Therefore, from these reasonably priced online colleges and universities, the number of students graduating has increased by 20%.
