The median tuition charged by colleges and universities across the nation that offer online computer programming programs is $4,657 yearly. The median tuition has increased in recent years. This change in tuition was approximately 52.6%. In 2007, the annual median tuition was $3,052 at these online schools.

Between 2006 and 2011, the percentage of computer programming graduates from the lowest cost online colleges and universities has decreased, while the number of graduates has increased by 2,393 graduates annually.

Tuition ranging from $1,808 to $3,180 each year is charged by other somewhat more expensive online computer programming colleges. Of the 24 online colleges and universities that have computer programming programs in the nation, 6 have tuition in this range.

In 2011, 19,233 students received their credentials from these reasonably priced online programs. This represents 24% of the country’s computer programming graduates. The number of graduates from these colleges was only 12,047 students, only 5 years earlier, in 2006. Thus, the number of graduates from these low tuition online colleges has increased by 60%.
