A median tuition of $2,903 annually is charged by schools around the country that have online certificate and training in criminal justice programs. In recent years, there has been a 17.3% increase in the median tuition. In 2007, the median tuition was $2,475 yearly at these online colleges.

A yearly tuition of over $6,964 is charged by the costliest online certificate and training in criminal justice colleges and universities. However, tuition charged by the cheapest colleges ranges from $780 to $1,714 yearly. The accredited online criminal justice certificate and training schools that are the least costly are located in California, Kansas, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Texas.

In 2011, of all criminal justice graduates with training and certificate from online colleges and universities in the nation, an estimated 26% earned credentials from these cheap programs. This represents 66,467 of the 258,148 graduates from around the US. From 2006 to 2011, the percentage of criminal justice graduates with certificate and training from the most inexpensive online colleges and universities has increased. Also, the number of graduates has increased by 40,309 graduates each year.

Other somewhat more costly online criminal justice certificate and training schools charge a yearly tuition in the range of $1,767 to $3,000. Of the 53 online colleges and universities that have certificate and training in criminal justice programs in the nation, 16 have tuition in this range.

A reported 45,752 students earned their degrees and certificates from these affordable online programs in 2011. This is 18% of the nation’s criminal justice certificate and training level graduates. Just 5 years prior, in 2006, only 27,385 students earned credentials from these schools. Therefore, from these cheap online colleges and universities, the number of students graduating has increased by 67%.
