The average tuition charged by colleges in the US offering online PhD in art programs is $9,863 yearly. In recent years, the average tuition has increased by 6%. The yearly average tuition at these online colleges in 2007 was $9,309.

A yearly tuition of over $8,592 is charged by the costliest schools that have online doctoral program in art programs. On the other hand, the cheapest colleges have yearly tuition costs ranging from $1,714 to $5,406. The accredited online art doctorate degree program schools that are the lowest cost are located in Florida, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah.

Between 2006 and 2011, the percentage of art graduates with PhD from the lowest cost online schools has increased, while the number of graduates has also increased by 94,312 graduates per year.

Other somewhat more costly online art PhD colleges and universities charge a yearly tuition in the range of $5,452 to $7,368. Roughly 8 of the 32 online schools that have doctoral programs in art programs in the US charge tuition in this range.

In 2011, 17.3%, or 168,369 of the country’s art doctoral level graduates received their certificates from these cheap online programs. A short 5 years prior, in 2006, the number of students graduating from these colleges and universities was as much as 173,282. This represents a 3% decrease in the number of graduates from these low tuition online schools.
