Schools around the country offering online political science programs charge students an average tuition of $11,440 per year. In recent years, the average tuition has increased. This change in tuition was about 22.5%. In 2007, the per annum average tuition was $9,338 at these online colleges and universities.

Tuition of more than $11,880 annually is charged by the most expensive colleges and universities with online political science programs. The cheapest schools, on the other hand, charge tuition in the range of $698 to $3,035 per annum. The most inexpensive accredited online political science schools are located in Arizona, California, and Kansas.

Of all political science graduates from online colleges across the country, a reported 5% graduated from these affordable programs in 2011. Therefore, of the 329,033 graduates from around the US, 15,066 are from the most inexpensive schools. From 2006 to 2011, the number of political science graduates from the least costly online colleges has increased by 1,034 graduates per annum. However, the percentage of graduates from these colleges has decreased.

Other somewhat more expensive online political science colleges charge students tuition ranging from $4,274 to $7,309 annually. Tuition in this range is charged by 4 of the 17 online colleges offering political science programs in the country.

In 2011, 20.5% of the country’s political science graduates received their certificates from these cheap online programs. This represents 67,595 students. Only 5 years prior, in 2006, the number of students graduating from these colleges was only 62,449. This represents a 8% increase in the number of graduates from these affordable online schools.
