Colleges and universities across the nation that offer online PhD in science programs charge an average tuition of $10,893 per year. Over the past few years, the average tuition has increased. This change in tuition was around 14.3%. In 2007, the annual average tuition was $9,532 at these online schools.

On the other hand, tuition ranging from $1,454 to $4,805 each year is charged by the cheapest colleges. The accredited online science doctoral degree schools that are the most inexpensive are located in Florida, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and South Dakota.

However, the number of graduates has increased by 41,739 graduates each year.

Other somewhat more expensive cost online science doctorate program colleges and universities charge students tuition ranging from $4,824 to $6,964 per annum. Tuition in this range is charged by 14 of the 59 online colleges that have PhD in science programs in the country.

Approximately 350,396 students earned their degrees from these low tuition online programs in 2011. This is 24% of the nation’s science doctoral level graduates. Only 273,717 students graduated from these colleges, only 5 years earlier, in 2006. Therefore, from these cheap online colleges and universities, the number of students graduating has increased by 28%.
