Online Masters Degree Programs in Nursing Education Ranked by Affordability

The median tuition charged by schools around the country that have online masters degree in nursing education programs is $10,920 yearly. The median tuition has increased over the past few years. This change in tuition was approximately 73.7%. The annual median tuition at these online schools in 2007 was $6,288.

Tuition of more than $23,950 per year is charged by the most expensive colleges and universities with online masters degree in nursing education programs. The cheapest schools, on the other hand, charge annual tuition costs in the range of $3,035 to $4,824. The most inexpensive accredited online nursing education masters degree schools are located in Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Tennessee, and Texas.

A reported 30% of nursing education graduates with masters degrees from online schools around the US graduated from these affordable programs in 2011. Therefore, of the 463,776 graduates from around the US, 139,752 are from the most inexpensive schools. From 2006 to 2011, the number of nursing education graduates with masters degrees from the least costly online colleges and universities has increased by 32,692 graduates each year. However, the percentage of graduates from these colleges and universities has decreased.

Yearly tuition in the range of $4,970 to $10,920 is charged by other somewhat more costly online nursing education masters degree colleges and universities. Of the 29 online colleges and universities with masters degrees in nursing education programs in the nation, 7 offer programs with tuition in this range.

In 2011, 18.7% of the country’s nursing education masters level graduates received their certificates from these cheap online programs. This represents 86,900 students. The number of graduates from these colleges and universities was only 56,559 students, a short 5 years earlier, in 2006. Thus, the number of graduates from these low tuition online colleges has increased by 54%.
