Online Bachelors Degree Programs in Accounting That are the Least Expensive

Colleges and universities across the nation that offer online bachelors degree in accounting programs charge a median tuition of $11,160 per year. The median tuition has increased by 11% in recent years. The per annum median tuition at these online colleges and universities in 2007 was $10,050.

Online bachelors degree in accounting colleges can also be referred to as CPA and accountancy colleges. The following graph shows the range of tuition at colleges offering online accounting programs at the bachelors level from most to least expensive:

The most expensive colleges that offer online bachelors degree in accounting programs require students to pay a yearly tuition of over $18,864. But, tuition in the range of $1,714 to $8,064 per annum is charged by the cheapest colleges and universities. The accredited online accounting bachelors degree schools that are the least expensive are located in Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, and Virginia.

Approximately 33% of accounting graduates with bachelors degrees from online schools around the US graduated from these low tuition programs in 2011. Therefore, of the 1,143,426 graduates from across the country, 379,668 are from the least costly colleges. Between 2006 and 2011, the percentage of accounting graduates with bachelors degrees from the lowest cost online schools has decreased, while the number of graduates has increased by 33,334 graduates per year.

Yearly tuition in the range of $8,080 to $11,940 is charged by other somewhat more costly online accounting bachelors degree colleges and universities. Roughly 83 of the 207 online schools that have bachelors degrees in accounting programs in the US charge tuition in this range.

In 2011, 24.7% of the country’s accounting bachelors level graduates received their credentials from these reasonably priced online programs. This represents 282,011 students. In 2006, which was a short 5 years earlier, the number of graduates from these colleges and universities was only 208,696 students. This is a 35% increase in the number of students graduating from these reasonably priced online schools.
